Nigeria, a
country located in West Africa, is often referred to as a land of immense
possibilities. It is home to over 200 million people, making it the most
populous country in Africa and the seventh most populous country in the world.
The country is blessed with vast natural resources, including oil, gas, coal,
iron ore, limestone, and many others, which have the potential to power a
thriving economy.
Despite
these abundant resources, Nigeria is currently facing a lot of challenges that
have hampered its growth and development. One of the most significant
challenges is poverty. The country has one of the highest poverty rates in the
world, with over 40 per cent of the population living below the poverty line.
This is mainly due to lack of job opportunities, inadequate infrastructure, and
an uneven distribution of wealth.
