Should Indicted INEC Sit Over Her Judgement?

 By MC Asuzu

Without any iota of doubt, all Nigerians must know by now that the vast majority of the people in this country are no longer ready to go on with all the lies and deceptions that had gone on in this country for all these past years.

*INEC Chair, Prof Yakubu

And even that statement is to put it very mildly indeed. The only surprising thing about this emerging situation is that unlike in the past, the young people that dominate this revolutionary movement have apparently agreed not to be violent about it; no matter the provocation they get from the erstwhile political brigands in this regard.

Nigeria’s Political Structures Of Corruption!

 By MC Asuzu

There have recently been discussions in this country concerning Nigerian politicians who have no political structures and those who had them, as the veritable determinants of those who will be able to win elections in Nigeria and otherwise. It was a very interesting discussion indeed. But what kept coming back to the mind of some of us who are incapable of any partisan political persuasions and/or memberships and participation is this: what structures are the people saying these things thinking of?

What does political structures by a single politician mean? Is it individual politicians or the group of people who wish to work together under specific political ideologies that develop such political structures? These organisational groups of people are simply called political parties, is it not? So, when politicians are talking of personal political structures (but not those of political parties), it becomes necessary to examine what these people may be having in mind and what it is that they themselves really have done in those regards.

Will Nigeria Survive As A Nation?

 By MC Asuzu

As any normal person will be able to reason out, politics is the science and the art of personal and especially group interaction that helps the persons concerned to be able to influence power or other decision making; or indeed, to capture that power (or decision-making) in order to use it for the pursuit of the greatest good for the greatest number of people in the polity, evenly and equitably.

*Buhari

It is for this reason that the classical Greek philosophers of old reckoned that politics is the highest human calling in the human life. They considered that after nursery, primary, secondary, tertiary or professional education for all the possible professions and jobs in life, then those who are able, will then be trained in philosophy as the highest level of training. Then, they will become the philosopher-kings ready and capable of justly, equitably and progressively ruling the nations of the world.
