Nigeria: Hunger And Anger In The Land!

 By Kenneth Okonkwo

Jesus Christ was persecuted, assaulted, dehumanised, and eventually crucified for mankind. As he was dying on the cross, he raised his voice and shouted, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do”. This same Jesus, when he was hungry and came to the living thing which God had created to give food to mankind and found no food on the living thing, he was angry and cursed the tree, and it died. He forgave his killers, but couldn’t forgive hunger.

Indeed, even God knows that there’s no reception to theology when a man is hungry. James 2:15-17 was unequivocal when it states, “If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone”. The first thing to administer to a man who is hungry is food, not preaching, not verses of the Bible or Quran.

Arise TV, Sue NBC; Do It Now!

 By Ochereome Nnanna

Something terrible is happening to Nigerians. It is not that they are being beaten that bothers me so much. It is that they no longer react, no matter how they are pummelled. Shockingly, the media appears to have become a victim of this.

There is an ongoing certificate and identity scandal which has been described in a foreign court as a “Nigerian thing”. Do you blame them? Our president’s name is on it. When misguided teenager, Mmesoma’s JAMB result forgery was confirmed, the same yellow bellies who were all over her and even dragged her ethnic group into the scandal are now either mute or trying to twist a clear-cut court deposition out of shape.

Peter Obi And Endless Possibilities

 By Valentine Obienyem

Nigeria is crying for liberation. A lot of things have gone wrong in the country. Anambra was once like that but underwent a profound transformation from 2006 to 2014. In those years, the state witnessed an interregnum of peace and progress. At the end, the state was left with over N75 billion and other surpluses amidst recording the highest development among all the states.

Unfortunately, his successor ended up destroying everything that he built; proving that from civilization to barbarism only take years provided a barbarian lurking around the gate is offered a little inroad. To whom, more than any other one man, do we owe that precious and epochal liberation? Mr. Peter Obi.

Nasir El-Rufai And The Propagation Of Islam

 By Kenneth Okonkwo

Chief Ozioko Francis Okonkwo was born into the lineage of great men. Unfortunately for him, his own father died at a tender age and he was sentenced to a life of servitude at a very tender age. He served from one household to the other until he attained the age of maturity,  at which, he came back to his native land Nsukka to learn vulcanizing. Wherever he went to serve, the household never allowed him to leave because of his sincerity and integrity.

After his mentorship as a Vulcanizer, his mentor was recalled by his own people to relocate back to his own home town. Okonkwo wished to follow his mentor back to his mentor’s hometown but was restricted by his mentor who insisted he must remain in Nsukka as their ambassador seeing his lifestyle of sincerity. Okonkwo remained in Nsukka as the only professional Vulcanizer.
