Selfish, Insensitive and Irresponsible Leadership Caused Our Defeat – APC Edo

The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic (PDP) for his victory at the September 19 governorship election held in Edo State.

In statement signed by the state chairman of the party, Anslem Ojezua, the party said that although the election was “acclaimed to be peaceful, orderly and transparent,” what led to their defeat was the mismanagement of the process leading to the election by a “selfish, insensitive, arrogant and irresponsible leadership.”

The statement reads:

“We join President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Caretaker Committee of our great Party to congratulate Governor Godwin Obasekl and his Deputy Rt. Hon. Philip Shalbu for their victory at the just concluded Governorship election in Edo state” the chairman said.

“The election has been generally acclaimed to be peaceful, orderly and transparent. The people of Edo State have made their choice. In a very clear and unambiguous manner.

Miss Uwaila Omozuwa: Rape And Murder So Gruesome!

By Ugochukwu Ejinkeonye

“One life taken in cold blood is as gruesome as millions lost in a pogrom.”—Dele Giwa (Nigerian Journalist assassinated in 1986)

After five whole years of seeking admission into the institution of higher learning, Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa was eventually admitted to read Microbiology at the University of Benin.
*Late Uwaila Omozuwa
Obviously a very serious student, she was in no mood to joke with her studies, probably, after considering how long it took her to secure the admission. So, she would always go to the serene environment of her Church when worshippers were not around to read her books. The Church environment should be both safe and devoid of distractions.

But on this particular day, May 27, 2020, some wicked, callous and barbarous assailants gained access to the Church auditorium where she was immersed in her books, brutally raped her and ended her life by hitting her on the head with a fire extinguisher which gave her a very deep cut. They then fled leaving her in the pool of her own blood. She was only 22 and in her first year at the university.

Terrorist Herders: Open Letter To Gov Godwin Obaseki

By Sylvester Odion Akhaine

Your Excellency,
I chose this medium of an open letter to reach out to you because of the existential danger presently confronting the peoples of Edo State. It is no longer news that Nigeria has become an open killing field stalked by so-called Fulani ‘herdsmen’, a roving band of terrorists acknowledged by the Global Terrorism Index as the fourth most dangerous terrorist organisation in the world.
*Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State
The crux of the matter is that while every community in Nigeria is alive to this danger posed by this band of terrorists and have openly rejected penetration projects variously referred to as ‘cattle colonies’ and ‘ranches’ advanced by their sponsors who currently control the levers of power at the centre, the governing elite in Edo state has maintained felonious silence over their forceful occupation of Edoland and murderous activities within. It is possible that the silence is induced by honest ignorance of the dynamics of the activities of these terrorists on your part and therefore requires some enlightenment by a recourse to some aspects of our history.
